1. Log in to cPanel

2. Access the Directory Privacy Tool
   • Scroll to the Files section in cPanel
   • Click on Directory Privacy (or Password Protect Directories)
3. Select the Directory to Protect
   • Navigate to the directory you want to protect (for example, public_html/secret_area)
   • Click the Edit button next to the directory
4. Enable Password Protection
   • Check the box that says Password protect this directory
   • Enter a Name for the protected directory (this is the name shown when users try to access it)
5. Create a User for Access
   • Under the Create User section, enter a Username and Password for users who are authorized to access the protected directory
   • Click Save
6. Test the Protection
   • Visit the protected directory’s URL (e.g., http://yourdomain.com/secret_area)
   • You should be prompted for the username and password you just set up
